Faith

Go and Make Disciples…

These are the last words that Jesus spoke before returning home to Heaven.  Here are Jesus’ exact words according to Matthew 28:18-20:
All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

When is the last time that you talked to a friend about Jesus?  Do people know that you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior?  Clearly sharing our faith is of the utmost importance to Jesus.  He commands His disciples to do exactly that, just before He ascends into Heaven.  If it’s the last command that Jesus gives while physically here on earth, do you think it might be important?  It clearly is to Him.

Sharing our faith can be scary and uncomfortable at times.  That’s why Jesus finished His command with His assurance, “surely I am with you always, until the very end of the age.”  Jesus was true man.  He fully understands the internal struggles that we face.  He knows that it’s not always easy to do the right thing, to do what we know we need to do, to do what we want to do.  But Jesus’ promise is certain, if we act in faith, He will bless our efforts.  All we have to do is ask a question, or make a simple statement of faith.  We don’t have to be polished speakers.  We don’t have to be able to quote every verse of scripture.  We just have to open our mouths, and Jesus will speak through us.  He will speak directly to the heart of that person standing in front of us.

This is my challenge to every one of you for this week:
If you have accepted Christ as your Savior, ask a friend, “Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?”
If you have not yet accepted Christ as your Lord, ask Jesus to reveal Himself to you.

If you currently do not know Jesus Christ, but would like to, I encourage you to contact me.  It would be my honor to help you start that journey.

God bless
Jason Fredrick
